All my life I have seen pictures and videos of this structure, but visiting it personally was really an overwhelming experience.
We visited Paris in april-2011 and during the city tour we saw this structure from almost every part of the city. It is so gigantic that if you are in Paris it’s almost impossible to miss it. It is an iron structure built in 1889 and named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel. The tower stands 324 metres (1,063 ft) in height.
We took a 90-minute guided tour which must be booked in advance. It takes visitors inside the Eiffel Tower without queuing in a group of 15 people.
There are three levels on the Eiffel Tower for visit - the first (57 metres), the second (at 115 metres) and the top (276 metres). You can either climb the stairs or take the elevators to go up to the top (we took elevator all the way up). The stairs are open until the second floor. To reach the top of the tower, you have to take another elevator from the second floor.
You can see a spectacular view of the city and Seine River from the top of the tower.
After seeing the Eiffel Tower and buying some souvenirs, we took a boat ride in Seine River, it was sunset so a perfect way to end our day. It was a one hour boat ride overlooking the tower and some of the best architectural building and bridges in the city, what other way you can indulge yourself in this most romantic city.
The tower is illuminated daily after sunset and after every hour the tower also sparkles for approximately 10 minutes. Resting in the arms of the person you love that site of twinkling Eiffel tower just took my breath away.
